Your photographs are not held by us

Scans, originals and edits are written to OldPic's private folder on your phone and are never uploaded. Deleting the app removes them, and nothing about them exists on our side to delete. There is no copy for us to return, either - so export anything you want to keep before you uninstall.

If you deleted the app and nothing else

Uninstalling already removes every photograph, the library database and any cached file. Usage data carries no account and no contact detail, so no further step is needed unless you signed in.

If you signed in with Apple or Google

Signing in is optional in OldPic and exists only to carry a purchase between devices. To delete that account and everything stored against it:

The deletion is immediate and unconditional. The row holding your provider identifier, e-mail address and premium flag is removed from our database in the same request; nothing is retained afterwards and there is no waiting period.

If you have already uninstalled the app and cannot sign in again, e-mail bsdigitalapp@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we will delete the record for you within 30 days.

Usage data

If analytics is left on, OldPic sends counts of actions - a scan finished, an export happened - together with a random install identifier, your app version and your device model. Your country is worked out by our server from the network connection; your phone does not send it, and does not send location of any kind. It never contains a photograph, a file name, an album name, or anything from a photo, and it is not linked to any account.

To stop it: OldPic → Settings → Share usage data → off. Turning it off also deletes anything still waiting to be sent from your phone.

Rows already collected cannot be deleted for you specifically, and saying otherwise would be a promise we could not keep: the install identifier is random, is never shown to you and is never joined to your e-mail or your account, so there is nothing to match you against. That is a consequence of the data carrying no name, e-mail or account - only an identifier this installation made up for itself - rather than of any claim that it is fully anonymous, which a persistent installation identifier would not support. Everything is deleted on the schedule below in any case.

What is kept, and for how long

Usage dataDeleted 24 months after a device was last seen, by a job that runs on the server every day.
Purchase recordsHeld by Google Play and Apple, not by us. Their own retention rules apply, because they are the record of a transaction.
